15 Jul 2005 Rounding the Mark

This was one of the larger boats at the sailboat races on Wednesday night -- a J24, maybe? (I'm not that educated on sailboats.) The wind was blowing toward us on the dock, so the boats approached with their spinnakers full of wind. Just before reaching the mark about 50 feet off the dock, the crew would quickly pull in the spinnaker and go whipping around the mark, sails snapping into place.
