On Friday evening I got to take my first ride in a hot air balloon! I am crewing for a balloon from Mississippi as part of the Ballunar Festival held here each August. (Why they chose the hottest part of the year is a mystery...) The pilot, Dan, is a dentist and so his balloon is decorated with two cartoon "Happy Teeth."

My ride only lasted about 3 minutes, just a short hop up and down, but it was still great fun. This was the view from somewhere around our highest point.
