My flight from Charlotte to Houston on Monday passed directly north of New Orleans. I took this photo from the plane window and upped the levels to bring out the detail and get rid of some of the haze (hence the noise). It wasn't until I saw this view from the air that it struck me just how much water there is in Lake Ponchartrain, and thus how much water there was to spill into the city after Hurricane Katrina.
