12 Jan 2005 The Trench

I was in the old Mission Control Center a few days ago shooting a spoof video for our division chief's upcoming retirement party. I'll try to post a shot from the new Mission Control within the next week or so for comparison.

This room has been designated a national historic landmark because it was the primary control room for the Apollo 11 mission (the first to land a man on the moon). As such, it looks almost exactly as it did thirty years ago...minus the papers, manuals, procedures documents, guys in short sleeved white dress shirts and thick-rimmed glasses, and copious amounts of cigarette smoke. ;)

(Thanks to everyone who has left comments lately. I appreciate all the feedback and look forward to hearing more!)
