This is my trusty road bike, a 2003 Specialized Sequoia. It's not the speediest racer out there, in fact as road bikes go this is probably one of the slowest. (Which is directly related to the fact that it's one of the cheapest -- ha!) I know there are many photographers out there who are anti-Photoshop, but I am not one. I actually enjoy playing around with the software to see what sort of effects I can accomplish. I shot this against the plain wall of my garage, and was looking for a way to make it pop a bit more. The wall was already a dull beige, so I selected the entire background, desaturated it, and then significantly upped the lightness. I ended up liking the effect, and how it now looks as if my bike is ready to be splashed onto the bright white pages of a catalog. Update:: I tried GN's suggestion of sticking a gradient in the background instead of just plain white and whaddaya know, I like it better! The original with a white background is here.
