I was originally scheduled to come back from JPL this afternoon, but I changed my reservations (and those of my traveling companions) to a flight that left LAX at 6:55 this morning. That meant getting up at 4. Why? Well, I had to be back in Houston in time for the Astros game, of course!

We did see a nice sunrise as we took off over the Pacific and then turned back east. Just off the coast was this strange-looking cloud swirl that looked a lot like a hurricane, only a lot smaller.
